SEMINAR ON INDUSTRY 4.0
12 February, 2019
On 12 February, 2019 the Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a seminar on Industry 4.0. During this seminar, attendees learnt what is industry 4.0? and what it aims at. The main objective was to understand the drivers, goals, features of industry 4.0 that can benefit their individual job roles. In this seminar, the students were informed about the vision of the future manufacturing industry and potentially a pathway leading to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and how it relies on the industrial digitalization and the use of advanced production technologies. And with the efficient use of the technology, it contributes to increase of revenues. The discussion was also made on why should India adopt Industry 4.0? and how India is preparing for Industry 4.0? To answer both the queries Ms. Sheemal, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, informed the students how advanced analytics would help to enhance production capacity and its quality. She also discussed about the adoption of robotics and automation that would shorten the production cycle. At last, light was thrown on how the Government of India is taking steps on adopting the Industry 4.0 by setting up the first Smart Factory at Bengaluru.
    SEMINAR ON ROLE OF IPR IN TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND ECONOMIC GROWTH

    Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a Seminar on the Role of Intellectual Property Rights in Technology Transfer and Economic Growth: Prospects and Challenges. In the beginning Mr. Nikhil jay Ashwani introduced the students with the topic and explained the role of IPR in brief. Ms. Roopkamal chawla explained this topic in detail she explained that how the poorly equipped intellectual property (IP) bar and limited juristic understanding of IP laws call for a fair balance between the interests and rights of intellectual labourers on the one hand and imperatives of rapid creativeness and inventiveness in Indian knowledge-based liberalized economy. She also explained that how IPR pervades all sectors of economy and is increasingly becoming important for ensuring competitiveness of the enterprises in the form of patents; trademarks; industrial designs; plant variety protection and copyright, undisclosed information, and trade secrets. Students participated actively. 
MAAT-PITA SANTAAN DIVAS
      25 January, 2019
    Post Graduate Department of Commerce celebrated Maat-Pita Santaan Divas on 25 January, 2019. Parents make a lot of sacrifices for their child which child cannot repay. Students on this day wrote poems, articles and made posters.The students learn a lot through this activity. 


SAVE THE GIRL CHILD
      23 January, 2019
      The Post Graduate Department of commerce organized a rally with a purpose to save the girl child in collaboration with the other department of the college. The people of the society were educated about the theme of "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao." Students actively participated in the activity.


STUDENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME 
      20 November, 2018
      Under the "Student Enrichment Programme" started by the college, The Post Graduate department of Commerce collaborated with Post Graduate Department of Computer Science and exchanged students for their development. The students from commerce department learned the tips and tricks related to Microsoft Office. The students of B.com final year participated in this programme.

SEMINAR ON THE PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE MANAGEMENT
     14 November, 2018
On 14 November, 2018, the Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a workshop on the Product Life Cycle Management. This seminar was conducted to tell - how understanding of product’s life cycle can help a company to understand and realize the time to introduce and withdraw a product from a market, its position in the market compared to the competitors, and the product’s success or failure. The students were informed about the five major steps or phases of Product Life Cycle: Product development, Product introduction, Product growth, Product maturity and finally Product decline. To understand the above mentioned things, a company needs to develop strategies and methodologies, some of which are: Strategic goal, price goal, promotion goal, distribution goal. The session proved very helpful for all the students and especially who aimed to become future entrepreneurs.

DEBATE ON "SHOULD EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTES BE CO EDUCATIONAL?"

     The Post Graduate Department of Commerce held a debate session. The topic for debate was "should educational institutes be co-educational?" Students of +2 and +1 commerce participated in this debate and gave their opinions. The students strongly favored the educational institutes only for women education. 


SEMINAR ON INVESTOR AWARENESS PROGRAMME: SEBI GUIDELINES
23 October, 2018 
On the 23rd October 2018, the Post Graduate Department of Commerce in association with the AMFI organized a 2 hours Workshop titled: Investors Awareness in respect to various investments for commerce students. This workshop was conducted by Mr. Sawtantar Tiwari. The aim of this workshop was to give a brief exposure to the students about various investments avenues and financial products and services. The students were actively involved in the discussion and the whole session was very interactive.
WORKSHOP ON FINANCIAL LITERACY
22 October, 2018
On the 22nd October 2018, the Post Graduate Department of Commerce in association with the AMFI organized Workshop titled: Investors Awareness in respect to various investment for whole faculty of Dev Samaj College for women. This workshop was conducted by Mr. Satnam Singh Rana  who enlightened around 50 faculty member of college. The aim of this workshop was to give a brief exposure to the faculty about various investments avenues and financial products and services. 

DEBATE ON “ME TOO CAMPAIGN”

The Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized Debate on the topic “ME TOO CAMPAIGN” on 20th OCT 2018. It is basically a movement against sexual harassment and it not only ensure safety for women in workplace, but also allows them to raise their voice against the injustice being done. In this debate the students actively participated by sharing their views on ME TOO CAMPAIGN. 

WORKSHOP ON DENTAL CARE
19 October, 2018
The Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized workshop on 19 Oct, 2018 on the topic “Dental Care”. Dr. Vivek Gupta of Dev Samaj College for Women was the resource person of this workshop. He enlightened the students how they can take care of their teeth and also told them what bad habits should be avoided to protect our gums and teeth’s. The students actively participated in this session and learn many solutions to their problems.


PRESENTATION ON WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
 17 October, 2018
The Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Dev Samaj College for Women, Ferozepur organized a presentation on the topic “Women Empowerment” as on 17 Oct. 2018. The main motive of the presentation was to create awareness among the students as Women Empowerment is one of the crucial social mechanism by which women are forced into a subordinate position compared with men.  In this presentation, the students actively participated.


AD-MAKING COMPETITION

27 September, 2018
Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized an event on 27th September, 2018 of Ad- Making Competition which also include money stuff challenge that allows students to form their own "advertising team" and create an ad. The theme of this Ad Making Competition was to create awareness for skill courses and also show importance of skill courses and give students a real-world scenario of advertising and also help students to understand the value of earning money. Students also shared presentation of their work with whole Department of Commerce in Auditorium.

WORLD TOURISM DAY CELEBRATION
27 September, 2018
Post Graduate Department of Commerce in collaboration with the department of Hospitality and Tourism Management celebrated the World Tourism Day in the premises of Dev Samaj College for Women on 27th September, 2018. Under the stewardship of Madam Principal Dr. Mrs. Madhu Prashar and Dean College Development Er. Prateek Prashar, the students of both the departments presented digital advertisements and displayed the poster on the theme Tourism and Digital Transactions. 




WORKSHOP ON ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS & DEVELOPMENT

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a workshop on Entrepreneurial Skills and Development through Power Point Presentation on 24th Sep 2018. The objective of this activity was to enhance entrepreneurial skills among the students and power point can be highly effective tool to aid learning. Students of class B.com final year participated in this activity.


POSTER MAKING COMPETITION
15 September, 2018
Post Graduate Department of Commerce delighted to organize the Poster Making Competition on 15th September, 2018 on topic "Drugs". The students were asked to express their ideas through painting  and Sketches with a message saying "No to Drugs and how this turn our life into dark". The competition goal was to increase students performance and reduce drugs use and learn skills to manage mood and emotions. 


 INNOVATIVE BRANDING STRATEGY
11 September, 2018
The Post Graduate Department of Commerce arranged "Innovative Branding Strategy" activity in the campus. The idea behind this activity was to launch a new innovative brand and a product and too teach various marketing strategies like product marketing, business planning, executing and making business strategies. In this activity the students performed and enacted the whole of advertisement in different groups keeping in mind how professionals work when they wanted to launch a product for the very first time in the market. 




SEMINAR ON PRODUCT DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
11 September, 2018
A seminar on “Product Design and Development” was organized by the Post Graduate Department of Commerce on 11th September 2018 in the Commerce Department.   The objective of the seminar was to acquaint the students with the practical knowledge regarding conceptualization, design and development of a new product. Students of B.Com- III actively participated in the seminar and they enjoyed it a lot.



WORKSHOP ON ADULTERATION IN FOOD STUFFS
07 September, 2018
Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a workshop on adulteration in food stuffs in collaboration with post graduate department of chemistry. The motive of this activity was to make students aware about the ongoing hazardous practices in food industry. Students of M.com participated in this activity and they learned to avoid such practices.


WORKSHOP ON BANKING TRANSACTIONS

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a workshop on  Banking Transactions  in collaboration with Post Graduate Department of Chemistry on 7th September.The aim of the workshop was to aware the students regarding banking transactions in a simulated bank environment to provide a practical exposure to the students. Students were also given knowledge about the various online methods of payments. 


SALAD MAKING COMPETITION
20 August, 2018
The Post Graduate Department of Commerce of Dev Samaj College for Women organized a salad making competition on 20th August 2018 for which the theme was ENVIRONMENT. The objective behind the competition was to inculcate healthy food habits and awareness regarding the choice of food among the youth. The students were judged on their creativity, presentation and innovative quality.


INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

The Post Graduate Department of Commerce Celebrated the Eve of Independence day on 14th August, 2018 in collaboration with Other Departments with great pomp and show. This day is very important to us because it remind us of the sacrifices of those who gave up their lives for the freedom in India. Our Honourable Principal DR. MADHU PRASHAR Ma’am encouraged us to become great Like Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. A number of students sang songs full of Patriotism.  


BOOK DONATION ACTIVITY
10 August, 2018
Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a book donation activity on 10 august 2018. The aim of this activity was to provide books to needy students. In this activity, books were distributed to students who could not buy books. Every year commerce department conducts this activity.


COUNSELING SESSION
09 August, 2018
Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a interactive counseling session on 9th August 2018 with the respected Principal Mam Dr. (Mrs.) Madhu Prashar . All the Students of Commerce Department participated in this session with full zeal and enthusiasm . Principal Mam has made the students aware about their capability and various new courses added in the campus.
WORKSHOP ON CHALLENGES IN BANKING TRANSACTIONS AND SOLUTION
04 August, 2018
Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a workshop on Challenges in Banking Transactions and Solution in collaboration with Post Graduate Department of English on 04th August 2018. The aim of this workshop was to aware the students regarding banking transactions in a simulated environment.
Students were also given knowledge about the various online methods of payment such as paytm, paypal etc. Overall it was a learning experience for the students.


WORKSHOP ON NON FIRE RECIPE

August, 2018

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a workshop in collaboration with Home Science Department on "Non Fire Recipes" on 2nd August, 2018. The purpose of this workshop was to enable students to prepare food items without using fire and learn recipes that can be quickly prepared. The students prepared tasty dishes and it was a wonderful learning experiences.
