Virtual Workshop for 11th &12th Class Students

June 7-8, 2021

Post Graduate Department of Commerce in Collaboration with P.G. Department of Cosmetology organized a Summer workshop for the students of 11th and 12th class under the guidance of Dr (Mrs.) Ramnita Sharda on Skin Care and Basic make up. Ms. Priyanshu Goyal organized the activity aanad the demo was given by Mrs. Palvinder Kaur. The activity was organized in order to make the students familiar with the basic make up tips and how they can pamper their skin in the summer season. On the First Day, the students were taught about How to clean, Tone and Moisturize their Skin via CTM Process. On the second day, the basic party make up was taught to them practically by giving a demo. The students enjoyed the workshop and learnt a lot.


June 9, 2021

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a workshop on Basics of Banking for the students. Ms. Roopkamal Chawla was the co-ordinator of the activity. She made the students familiar about the basics of banking and how they can get their accounts open in a bank and also abut the basic documents required to open a bank account. the students were also made familiar about the various banking frauds. The students learnt a lot from this.


June 11, 2021

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a Business Branding Quiz for the students as a fun related activity in which students have to identify the logo of a brand. Mrs. Vishika Sethi was the Co-ordinator of the activity. The main objective of the activity was to make the students awae about the importance of logo in selling the product and also how a logo affects the popularity of a product. The students enjoyed this activity.

June 11, 2021

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a Career Guidance programme for the students. Mrs. Aarti Garg guided the students about the various options or choices available to them after completing their senior secondary education and graduation. this program helped the students in choosing their careers. The queries of the students were also resolved. the session  was very informative for the students.

Inter School/College Fest COMMFIESTA

April 28, 2021

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a Inter school/ College Fest COMMFIESTA to engage students so that they can showcase their talents and prepare them for the real world challenges. The main aim of the fest was to stimulate entrepreneurship among students and to sharpen their practical skills. Various competitions were held in the fest for the students. The fest was held on April 28, 2021 in online mode on Google Meet platform.

Mock Interview

Mock Interview competition was held in the fest. The main purpose of conducting this activity was to make the students familiar with a situation i.e. how to face an interview. The activity was conducted by Mrs. Aarti Garg. It had three rounds Aptitude Test, Group discussion and Interview. 28 students participated in the aptitude test. Out of which, 7 students were qualified for the next round i.e. for the Group Discussion. Then, final interview was conducted and winners were declared.

AD Mad Show

Ad mad show was one of the activity which was organized by Ms. Roopkamal Chawla. The students had to prepare an innovative ad regarding their product and showcase their marketing skills. The activity was judged by Roopkamla Chawla and P.G. student and the winners were declared.

Brochure Designing

Brochure Designing was one of the activity in the fest and the co-ordinator was Mr. Nikhil Jay Ashwani. There were 21 students who participated in the activity. They made brochures for the promotion of the imaginary business plan. The judges were Mrs. Leena kakkar, Dr. Anju Bala, Mr. Nikhil Jay Ashwani and Rajveer. The winners were:

Corporate Dilemma (Case Studies)

Corporate Dilemma was one of the activity conducted by Mrs. Vishika Sethi. The main aim of the activity was to make students aware about how to take sensible and feasible decisions in the corporate era. In this competition, various case studies were give to the students and they were asked to give their opinion for the same. Total 9 students participated in the activity. The winners were:

Corporate Roadies ( Business Plan)

Corporate Roadies was one of the activity co-ordinated by Ms. Priyanshu Goyal. The main objective of the Business Plan Activity was to make the students aware about how to create a hypothetical plan of a business, to stimulate entrepreneurship among students and sharpen their practical skills. The judges of the competition were Ms. Priyanshu Goyal, Mr. Damanpreet Sidhu and Jyoti. Three teams participated in the competition who presented their business plan. The winners were:

2nd Position - Tania, B.A. 2, DSCW

"Help People Manage their Own Money"

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a session on " Help People Manage their own Money" for enlightenment of students of various recent plans in financial markets. The main aim of the activity was to create awareness among students that how they can manage their money effectively to achieve financial well being. Mr. Shamsher Singh, Certified Financial Planner and CNBC TV 18 Financial Advisor Awardee guided the students about investing efficiently in financial markets. Mrs. Leena Kakkar and Dr. Anju Bala were the coordinators of the workshop. The session was held on March 10, 2021 in online mode on Zoom platform. The students got practical knowledge about investment and the session was very knowledgeable for them.

 

Inter Collegiate Competition COLORS 2021

January 28, 2021

Post Graduate Department of Commerce participated in Inter Collegiate Competition organized by C.T. Group of Institutions, Jalandhar. The students participated in Business Plan activity held in the competition. The competition was held on 28th January, 2021 at Jalandhar in offline mode. The main objective of the Business Plan Activity was to make the students aware about how to create a hypothetical plan of a business, to stimulate entrepreneurship among students and sharpen their practical skills. The activity was conducted in 3 phases. First of all, it was conducted on Department level out of which two students Harman, M.Com 1 and Ananya, B.Com 3 were selected. Then, they represented the college in an online round conducted by C.T. Group and got selected. Then, final round was conducted and students got 2nd position in the round. They were awarded with certificate and trophy. 

Online Student Training Programme on

Financial Inclusion and Financial Literacy

January 5-9, 2021

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a 5 day online student training programme for the awareness of students about the various investment plans available in the market. The programme was held from 5 January to 9 January, 2021 for 5 days in online mode on Google Meet. The STP was headed by Dr. Aditya Srinivas, Chief Operating officer and Chief economist at Bombay Stock Exchange Forum. Mrs. Leena Kakkar and Dr. Anju Bala were the coordinators of the Student Training Programme. The students were given information about various topics related to Financial inclusion and Financial literacy like Monetary Policy, Working of stock exchange, mutual funds, etc. The students also got hands on experience about trading at exchange. Students participated with great enthusiasm.

Webinar on MOOC'S and Online Teaching

December 8, 2020

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a webinar on MOOC's and Online Teaching on  8th December,2020 in online mode on Zoom Platform. The main objective was to upgrade students knowledge about the flexibility of online learning and various platforms available for online teaching. Dr. Ashwani Bhalla, Professor, S.C.D. Government College, Ludhiana was the resource person of the webinar. Mrs. Leena Kakkar and Dr. Anju Bala were the coordinators of the webinar. The students were made aware about the benefits of MOOC's i.e. how it has helped teaching institutes to survive in the COVID 19 pandemic situation. They were also told about the various online learning platforms like SWAYAM, etc. The students actively participated in the webinar.

International Summit on Atma Nirbhar Bharat

November 26-27, 2020

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a Virtual International Summit on Atma Nirbhar Bharat for inculcating the value of self dependency among students. The main aim of the summit was to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in medical devices. Mrs. Leena Kakkar was the coordinator. Many eminent dignitaries all round the world participated in this and put forward their viewpoints that how we can make our nation independent and to make the economy to move towards the phase of development. the summit was held on 26 and 27 November, 2020 in online mode on Google meet platform. Students learnt a lot about the opportunities of entrepreneurship in medical devices.
