Career Guidance Programme

Postgraduate Department of Commerce organized a Career Guidance Programme on 25th February, 2020.Mrs. Rani Raizada, Sr. Office Assistant, Amritsar Chapter of NIRC of ICSI, Amritsar, guided the students. It was organized to create timely among the students regarding the profession of Company Secretary (CS). The programme was conducted by the department in collaboration with ICSI. The students of B.Com participated in the programme and it was very informative session for the students.

In order to inculcate the value of caring and sharing among the students, Post graduate Department of Commerce organized a donation for the needy at Wall of Kindness. The students donated clothes, eatables, usable items for the needy people. The department organizes such activities from time to time in order to inculcate moral values among students. The students participated in activity with great enthusiasm.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a Quiz Competition on 7th November, 2019 on the teachings of Bhagwam Dev Atma, Founder of Dev Samaj College for Women. The venerable founder of Dev Samaj realized that future of women lay in education. He wanted to regenerate mankind and transform the society through women education. The students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and were enlightened by teachings of Great Guru.

On 14th October 2019, the Post Graduate Department of Commerce used an Innovative Teaching Methodology and a cartoon storyboard activity was organised. In this activity, the students were taught by using an innovative teaching method i.e. in the form of an Animated Cartoon. These activities keep the students upgraded with the technology and keep them updated with the new trends in the field of education. The students showed their interest in this activity and learned a new methodology.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a Yoga Awareness session on 4th October 2019 in order to teach the students about Yoga as it is very important for our health. The students were explained about the importance of Yoga and Meditation in our daily life. They were also informed about the ways to achieve good health and inner peace with the help of Yoga. They were taught some Yoga Positions and ways to relieve stress. The students also practice meditation as it is a way to reduce stress, anxiety, depression and pain.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce celebrated the Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2019 in order to make the students know of the importance of this day. On this day, our great leader and father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi was born. The students were made aware of his teachings of Satyagraha, truth, and Non-Violence. The students actively participated in the celebration.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a Logo Designing activity on 20th September 2019 in order to make the students more creative as it is very important for our growth. Mrs. Vishika addressed the students and explained the students about importance of brand management in our professional life. She also explained the various aspects which have to be considered while designing the logo of an organization. The students actively participated in the activity.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a debate on topic of Drug Awareness on 15th September, 2019. Mrs. Vishika addressed the students about the drugs and their ill effects and encouraged the students so that they can make aware the society about the ill-effects of consumption of drugs. Students also put foward their views about the consumption of drugs and their ill-effects.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a presentation on Stress Management in collaboration with the Department of Punjabi and NCC on 13th September 2019. In today's world, students are dealing with a lot of pressure and stress and sometimes they are unable to cope with the stress. In this activity, the students were addressed by Ms. Roopkamal Chawla explained to the students the importance of being positive in life and how to handle the stress in their daily life. Mrs. Navdeep Kaur, Officiating Principal, DSCW also motivated the students to always stay positive in their life.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a discussion on the topic of Drug Awareness on 11th September 2019. Ms. Roopkamal Chawla and Mrs. Etti Sharma discussed the harmful effects of drugs with the students and how the patients should be treated and what care and concern should show to their children so that they become aware of the ill effects of drugs. The students actively participated in the discussion and gave their opinions on the topic.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a Student Enrichment activity on 9th September 2019 in collaboration with the Post Graduate Department of Cosmetology. Mrs. Palwinder Kaur and Ms. Mehak made aware the students of how to take care of their skin through the process of CTM: Cleansing, Toning & Moisturizing. The students were given practical exposure to the same so that they can a healthy skin. Students actively participated in the activity.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a seminar on Drug awareness and prevention on 6th September 2019. The students expressed their views in the form of a PowerPoint Presentation. The students discussed the ill effects of different types of drugs. They were explained how badly they affect the normal life of addicted persons.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized an activity Say No to Plastics on 5th September 2019. The students prepared the paper and jute bags by saying no to plastics. The students were also informed about the harmful effects of plastics. Polythene bags should be replaced by paper bags as they are Eco-friendly and not harmful to the environment. Dr. (Mrs.) Madhu Prashar, Secretary, DSCW, and Mrs. Navdeep Kaur, Officiating Principal, DSCW encouraged the students for their participation.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce celebrated Teacher's Day on 5th September 2019. The students of the department came forward to express their gratitude towards the teachers. They shared their feelings through poems, songs, and different writings. The Students celebrated the day with full enthusiasm and great zeal. The celebration was a way by which the students are able to express their love towards the teachers. The teachers were overwhelmed with the celebration and the love of the students.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce is delighted to organize the Poster Making on 3rd September 2019 on the topic "Drugs Awareness". The students were asked to express their ideas through painting and Sketches with a message saying "No to Drugs and how this turn our life into dark". The goal was to increase students' performance and reduce drugs use and learn skills to manage mood and emotions.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce made the students visit the library of the college on 3rd September 2019 in collaboration with the Library Department. The Students of B.Com First Year were made familiar with the library. Mr. Anoop Singh enlightened the students about encyclopedias, journals, magazines, articles, etc. The students were told about the importance of reading books as they inculcate the good habits among the students. Students actively participated and got familiar with the library.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized an activity on Income tax return filing on 3rd September 2019. The Students of B.Com Final Year were taught to file the income tax return of an individual person. Mr. Nikhil Jay Ashwani made the students aware of the various forms required to file an income Tax Return. The doubts and queries of the students were duly resolved. The Students were given practical exposure by which they can their earn their livelihood after passing out the Course.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized Best Out of Waste activity on 3rd September 2019. The students were encouraged to reuse old materials like newspapers, plastic bottles, cardboard, etc. The students were explained the 3Rs: Recycle, Reuse, and Reduce. They were informed about how to recycle the old material and transform them into new ones. The Students actively participated and presented their skills in the form of art.
