The ICSSR-sponsored National Seminar on "Arogya Bharat- An Initiative through Fit India Movement for Stress-Free Corporate Life" was organized by the Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Dev Samaj College for Women, Ferozepur. The keynote address was given by Dr. Sanjay Kaushik, who discussed the importance of fitness in the life of young students. The technical session was chaired by Dr. Monika Agarwal, who stressed the policies of the government related to mission Arogya Bharat. Dr. Pankaj Mala Sharma, Dr. Bimal Anjum, and Dr. Mohinder Singh were all invited guests to the technical session. They discussed music and mental health, stress and life balance, yoga and pranayama, and strategies for a stress-free life. At the end of the session, HOD Mrs. Leena Kakkar presented a vote of thanks to the invited guests and thanked the Principal Madam and other colleagues.

18th-19th February 2020
Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a 2-day national workshop on "Modern Research Methods and data analysis Tools". The workshop was conducted to develop the practical and analytical skills of the students. The main aim was to provide an insight and use of tools to conduct relevant research that will aid quality decision-making and contribute to the body of knowledge in various areas of interest.
On the first day, Dr. Sanket Vij, Dean and Chairperson, Faculty of Commerce and Management, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidayala, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat, Haryana explained the concept of SPSS to the students by telling them how to enter, clean and filter data which is used in research. He also explained the students various techniques used in SPSS.
On the Second day, Dr. Rekha Handa, Assistant Professor, UBS, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, explained about the different types of data and how they are used in research. She also practically implemented the techniques taught to the students.
Around 40 students participated in the workshop. The students learned a lot from this workshop.












16th April 2019

One day ICSSR sponsored a National seminar on "Transformation of Business Through Digitalization: Recent Trends and Future of Digitalization with respect to Indian Business," which was organized by the Post Graduate Department of Commerce on 16th April 2019.
The informal inauguration of the seminar was done by lightening the lamp by the Worthy Principal Madam Dr. Mrs. Madhu Prashar, the Distinguished guests, Mrs. Leena Kakkar, the convener of the seminar, and Head of Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Dr. Anju Bala, the Organizing Secretary of the National Seminar and the faculty members of the college. The seminar was hosted by Mrs. Sapna Badhwar, Assistant Professor, The Post Graduate Department of English in a very efficient and graceful manner.
The seminar started with the floral welcome of the guests by the Principal madam and faculty members. Dr. Mrs. Madhu Prashar welcomed the dignitaries, research scholars, and all those present in the auditorium. She discussed various achievements of the college.
Key note address was given by Dr. Ravinder Vinayek, Director DSPSR, and New Delhi. He gave Powerpoint presentation on, “Digitalization of Indian Business: Global Context”. In this presentation, he explained the importance of Digitalization and how Indian business is accepting this concept.
The technical session was chaired by, Dr. Ashwani Bhalla, Professor, S.C.D. Govt. College Ludhiana & Member Research Board, Secretary, Faculty of Business Management and Commerce at Punjab University, Chandigarh. He laid stress on the importance of digitalization in the life of the people. He said that when the last person in the street could get the benefit of digitalization, it would be the victory of digitalization in the true sense of the word.
Dr. Ishani Chopra, (Assistant Professor, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidayala, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat, Haryana) was the first resource person of the technical session. She gave a PowerPoint presentation on the topic “Adoption of EWOM (Electronic Word of Mouth) for travel and Tourism”. In this presentation, she explained how Digitalization is playing a very important role in the travel and tourism industry.
Dr. Bimal Anjum (Assistant Professor, DAV College Sector-10, Chandigarh) was the next eminent speaker of the session. He shared his valuable knowledge with the students regarding the cashless economy and Digitalization with the help of a PowerPoint Presentation. He also explained the benefits and safety concerns related to digitalization.
Dr. Nitin from, RIMT, Mandi Gobindgarh, was the next scholar in this series. He talked about the vulnerability of digital processes. But at the same time, he suggested the audience be more alert and alarmed in the present-day scenario.
At the end of the session, HOD Mrs. Leena presented a vote of thanks. She showed her gratitude towards the invited guests who had spared their precious time to add to the knowledge of students of DSCW.









24th  & 25th March 2017
The Post Graduate Department of Commerce & Economics organized a National Workshop on Research and Hypothesis Testing on 24th & 25th March 2017. The objective of the workshop was to introduce the modern ways of conducting research with the use of data analytical tools i.e. SPSS in analyzing the research data. The Workshop will help the participants in applying proper research methodology and improving their analysis by applying various statistical techniques with the help of SPSS.

The Department organized a one-day National seminar on " Contemporary Issues and Challenges of Indian Business in the Global Scenario”. The objective of the seminar was to examine the various issues  and dimensions related to Globalization, Urbanization  and Industrial development in India. The Seminar had been divided into three technical sessions and an inaugural and valedictory session. Mr. Kawal Nain Singh,Head,Department of Management,Rayat Bahara Institue,Ropar in his key note address focused on the current trends and new dimensions emerging in this current scenario.Five main themes were chosen and accordingly each theme was discussed in separate sessions. Research scholars of various universities and colleges attended the seminar. The highly interactive session was a wonderful exposure for the participants and the students.

The Seminar was inaugurated by Dr.Pushpinder Gill, Prof. and Head, School of Management Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala. In his key note address he talked at length on the ‘Mantra of success in a corporate world’. Dr. Kulbushan Chandel, Reader, HP University Shimla, Dr. Ashwani Bhalla, Associate Prof, Govt College Ludhiana, Dr. BB Singla, Assistant Prof, Punjabi University Patiala , Dr. Puran Singh, Associate Prof, Govt College Ludhiana  addressed the issues of Universal banking in India. Research scholars of various universities and colleges attended the seminar. The highly interactive session was a wonderful exposure for the participants and the students.
